NEWSRed Carpet Confidential: Tia Mowry-Hardrict Bonds With Twin Tamera About Breastfeeding

Sister, Sister indeed.
When first-time mom Tamera Mowry-Housley welcomed son Aden Nov. 12, she turned to twin Tia Mowry-Hardrict, 34, for some much-needed advice.
“The first thing, she was like ‘oh my goodness, how do you do this breastfeeding? It’s difficult, it’s hard, and it hurts!’” Tia, whose son Cree is 17-months-old, tells me this week during ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas Winter Wonderland event in NYC. “I’m like ‘just stay with it. Everything will be fine.’”
She continues, ‘I’ve also given her the advice of ‘sleep when the baby sleeps,’ because, like me, we want to make sure everything is tidied up around the house and in the kitchen and with the clothes. I’m like ‘Tamera, you just have to let them pile up a little bit, and sleep when your baby sleeps, because if you don’t, you will be a walking zombie.’”

One relative who can’t get enough of baby Aden is Tia’s son Cree, whose dad is her actor husband Cory.
“He loves him,” she says. “The first time he saw him, he let out a gasp. He went ‘uhhh!’ I thought that was so freaking adorable. And then I show him pictures of his little cousin, and he’ll just look at it. I’ll take the phone away, and he doesn’t want me to take the phone away. He’s mesmerized by Aden.”

She adds, “My sister and I, we think that they’re going to be best friends, and they’re going to turn on us. laughs They’re going to be crazy! laughs”
Both tots will surely enjoy watching Tia in the ABC Family original movie musical The Mistle-Tones, in which her caroling group faces off against Tori Spelling’s rival troupe.
“My son was one of the reasons I decided to do it, because I knew that this is something that he and our family can sit down and enjoy together.”
For Tia, it is a perfect match.
“I absolutely love everything about Christmas — I love singing carols, which has definitely been a tradition in our family,” she says. “I didn’t have to memorize any of the songs that we had to sing in the movie, because I already knew them. That’s what’s so special about this movie — not only do we get to sing carols, and we get to sing all of the most famous, popular Christmas songs, like O Holy Night, Twelve Days of Christmas – but I get to sing, and dance. That’s what’s so great about this movie — it’s adorable, it has a lot of heart, and there’s a love story involved.”
During the event, Tia stays true to form, and chats up the carolers singing Christmas melodies.
The Mistle-Tones debuts Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
