Release Date Set For New Alicia Keys CD

November 13 is going to be an interesting day the record store, when two of the world's biggest stars face off with their first new albums in almost four years. In one corner is Britney Spears, who hasn't lit up the charts with original music since In the Zone was released in 2003, the same year that our other competitor, Alicia Keys dropped her last studio album, The Diary of Alicia Keys. Now, Brit's as-yet untitled album will face off against Alicia's As I Am.
In the years since, Britney has gone on to make more headlines than music, while Alicia, who did release an Unplugged album in 2005, has branched out into acting with roles in films like Smokin' Aces and The Nanny Diaries.
So who has the better shot at winning over the record-buying (and MP3-downloading) public? "The market has changed significantly since 2003," a music-industry insider tells OK!. "But not as much for Alicia, who also has managed to keep her name out of the tabloids." So, what does Britney need to do? "Her success all depends, for the moment, on how much buzz she can create from her performance at the VMAs."
