Talk about depressing! On a normal family outing, Ethan (Phoenix) and Grace's (Connelly) son, Josh is accidentally killed in a hit and run accident. The fateful night haunts Ethan and he is adamant to seek revenge. The family hires Dwight (Ruffalo) to investigate the case, but he has demons of his own that he has to deal with. It's heartbreaking to watch the family go through this gut wrenching tragedy and then to know that they are being deceived by their own lawyer and the cops is even worse. There is good depressing and there is bad depressing. This one definitely blurs the line. With an all-star cast you expect the acting to be great and it is. You even get to see Dakota Fanning's 'mini-me', Elle Fanning, play the role of grieving little sister Emma. Acting definitely runs in that family!
