Robert Pattinson has been working it pretty well during his NYC Cosmopolis press tour, and he got rather playful last night during a live Q&A with MTV First.

The outlet knew better than to ask about whats-her-name and that under-the-radar cheating scandal, and as a thank you, Rob gave some pretty bold and candid answers about his new flick.

For starters, the now-infamous sex scenes between he and co-stars Sarah Gadon and Juliette Binoche were very much creatively executed by none other than Rob himself. In fact, the original script doesn't even call for any sex scenes.

"There's the mechanics of the sex scene. Where does it climax? You're trying to figure that out. There's six pages of dialogue. That was my idea, where to climax," he said. "I had the idea of climaxing and saying, 'Do you find this interesting?' That's a cool line."

Oh, Rob — tell us more about climaxing....

Seeing as the entire movie takes place in the back of a limo, he talks about the perils of long days in an enclosed area and how he often had to "pee in bottles."

All the hard work wasn't in vain, however, as the critics seem to actually think he did a good job in the movie. When asked how it feels to get a positive review, Rob admits he "never intended to become an actor," but, "It's a relief not to get s--t on."

He still enjoys the thrill of feeling like he has to prove himself.

"As soon as you feel validated, you're a bad actor. You need to constantly feel like there's a 99 percent chance of failure — devastating failure," he explains. "You should feel with every job there's a chance you'll never get one again. It's all about actually living in the present."
