Ryan Lochte is doing some quick damage control after his mother, Ike Lochte, hilariously told The Today Show that her Olympic son "goes on one-night stands" instead of committing to a relationship.

OK! NEWS: RYAN LOCHTE PREFERS "ONE NIGHT STANDS" TO RELATIONSHIPS, SAYS MOM

"He goes out on one-night stands," Ike declared. "He's not able to give fully to a relationship because he's always on the go."

Well, Ryan would like the world to know he isn't the promiscuous womanizer his mother makes him out to be. Rather her words were "taken out of context."

"My mom is really new to all of this and the media," he told Us Weekly. "She meant since the last 4 years I just wanted to focus on swimming, and I didn't really have time for a relationship."

He does admit to "loving the ladies" and says he dates casually, but wants to be in a relationship 100% before he commits.

"When I'm in a relationship, I want to give that person my entire heart and I wasn't able to ever do that because of swimming. I'm always on the go. So what she meant is that I do go out on dates," he explained. "But it's not that thing that everyone is talking about, because that's not me. I've never done that and never have been like that, so I don't want people to think that about me."

After a probably very stern talking to, Ike was forced to retract her statements as well saying the flub was "innocent" and by "one night stand" she meant "date." Hmmm.

"He just goes and dates and takes out a girl for maybe one or two dates and doesn't have a relationship because he doesn't have (time," she told USA Today. "Then they turned it around. I'm not used to this. … What kind of mom is going to say that (about her son having one-night stands)? Especially being a mom and having two daughters."

Glad that's cleared up!
