Sad, sad day...

This is a bleak day in pop culture history.
The helicopter carrying Michael Jackson's body literally just passed by my Beverly Hills office window :(
When I think of pop culture icons of my childhood, the first ones that pop to mind are Madonna and Michael Jackson.
One of my clearest memories of childhood is dressing up with flourescent lace wrapped around my hands and another in a bow in my hair while wearing a half shirt, leggings and leg warmers. I'd crank up the speakers on the universal stereo system in every room of our house when "Thriller" came on and moonwalk and dance about in front of the mirror.

Michael Jackson always had Peter Pan syndrome and like Peter Pan, he will now never get old. I just spoke to his one-time publicist and friend Susan Blond who told me, sadly "He wasn't meant to grow old, I guess."
