On the calendar it says I'm supposed to be at a charity event at the Ritz Carlton in the Grand Cayman Islands this weekend. In reality, I'm on my way to a friends birthday party at low-key lounge Angels & Kings in NYC. I cancelled the trip Thursday, sometimes there's something to be said for a relaxing weekend at home with friends and family. But...My fabulous colleague Laura is keeping the you informed of the glamorous events you're missing with a guest blog from the Bahamas International Film Festival!

Enjoy ;)xo

Its freezing cold in NYC and the best my fair city can offer me is rain, sleet, or snow – so it shouldn't come as any great shocker that I jump at the chance to head to the Bahamas for the Bahamas International Film Festival.

It is a separate universe from New York. Steel drums welcome me at the airport, and with a happy sigh I shed my stress and anxiety like a sweater. Ah, the Bahamas. That stress is right back in effect, because literally minutes after de-boarding, I'm told I have an hour to get dressed, make myself pretty-like and get my butt down to the opening night Versace/Chopard party.

I dress myself in a mermaid-y confection in my room at the Atlantis Resort, and I haven't made any makeup gaffes of Bridget Jones-like proportions; I'm ready and willing to mingle without knowing a soul. The Chilean director of the fabulous Pleure, John Gabriel Briggs (or Mr. Bigg, to me) takes pity on me and introduces me to his fun director friends.

The Veuve Cliquot is flowing freely by the time guests of honor Stuart Townsend (Queen of the Damned, About Adam, Mr. Charlize Theron) and Martin Henderson (The Ring, Bride & Prejudice) arrive. Before the amazing Versace fashion show – which one partygoer tells me is the first fashion show ever held in the Bahamas – begins, Stuart and I chat about his directorial debut, Battle in Seattle, which happens to star his longtime girlfriend Charlize Theron. But I won't give away anything here – you'll have to read OK! to hear what Stuart thinks of his honey. Minutes before we're whisked away to the Battle in Seattle premiere, an amazing fireworks display goes off and I'm rendered speechless. And trust me, that's no easy feat for me!

BIS is the opening night film, and you can tell it's a labor of love – it took Stuart nearly six years to complete it! A film on the WTO? Totally prepared for the worst. After Darryl Hannah pops in at the last second, the film begins, and let me tell you, I'm hooked.

Besides realizing that Stuart has some VERY good Hollywood friends – Channing Tatum, Woody Harrelson, Charlize Theron, Joshua Jackson, Martin and Andre Benjamin of Outkast all star – the movie itself is mindblowing. Stuart took something I had minimum knowledge about and made me think, feel, and LEARN. Kudos to Mr. Townsend!

We all celebrate by heading to the Atlantis' nightclub, Aura and hang back in the VIP section. Martin's eagerly watching some hot blondes dance, and Stuart is enthralled in the music. Why? Because Tommy Lee is DJ'ing! I think Tommy Lee is my new favorite person. He sheds his shirt midway through the set and rocks out, and although the music is a loud mix of nothing good, he's fun, and makes everyone grin.

Stuart tells me he and Tommy Lee have never met, but he did see a good film Tommy made, and I'm rendered speechless as he grins cheekily at me. Hello Pamela Anderson sex tape! I wonder if Charlize watched it with him? Guess we'll never know!

It's 3 AM, and I'm tired of straining to hear E! Daily's 10 man Ben Lyons over Tommy Lee's 'symphony' of sound, so we make the executive decision to leave. Stuart and Martin head out for more hard partying at Nassau's "Bamboo", Ben and Half Nelson director Ryan Fleck ready themselves for some card playing and me? Bed spells relief.

And I'm so ready to do this fabulousness all over again tonight!
