STARS SHINE AT THE SAG AWARDS

Ellen Pompeo's shout out to Grey's Anatomy cast mate Isaiah Washington wasn't the only highlight of the 13th Annual SAG Awards. While accepting the award (officially called an Actor) for outstanding cast in a drama, Ellen said 'It's worth mentioning the members of the cast who aren't here,' and named the controversial Isaiah who is seeking counseling for his 'issues.' Another Grey's actor, Chandra Wilson, who won outstanding actress in a TV drama, got some laughs by acknowledging the elephant in the room in her acceptance speech, 'It's about those 10 cast members sitting over there and the other one in rehab. Y'all just hold me together.'But it wasn't all about Grey's Anatomy. Another doctor, Hugh Laurie of House, took home his award for outstanding actor in a TV drama while America Ferrera added another trophy to her shelf for her role in Ugly Betty winning outstanding actress in a TV comedy. Alec Baldwin thanked his fellow actors for the outstanding actor in a TV comedy win for 30 Rock and the funny cast of The Office scored the trophy for outstanding cast in a TV Comedy.Now to the movies. Golden Globe winner Forrest Whitaker beat out Leonardo DiCaprio for outstanding performance by a lead actor for his role in The Last King of Scotland. Golden Globe winner Helen Mirren's royal portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen earned her another accolade. She was also named best actress in a television movie or miniseries for Elizabeth I. Dreamgirls saw Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson each being acknowledged for their roles, scoring the Actor for outstanding performance by a supporting actor and supporting actress, respectively. The cast of Little Miss Sunshine won for best cast in a motion picture. Star Greg Kinnear joked, 'I'd like to thank the engineers at Volkswagen for making such a beautiful vehicle back in 1969 that is so comfortable, so safe. Legendary actress Julie Andrews was awarded the SAG's lifetime achievement award for her career that has spanned over five decades. Mary Poppins' co-star Dick Van Dyke, presented his former leading lady with the award. I never quite got over being a little bit tongue-tied in Julie's presence, he said. That beauty ... that voice could tune a piano.
