Cancer survivor Suzanne Somers made some harsh comments about how cancer medications were responsible for killing Patrick Swayze, and not the disease itself — and now she says she regrets those remarks.

"I should not have said what I said," Suzanne tells Extra.

When asked if she believed Patrick would have survived if he hadn't undergone chemotherapy, Suzanne says, "I don't know what Patrick chose, I don't know anything about it."

Suzanne goes on to reveal that she's tried to make amends with the Dirty Dancing star's loved ones.

"I apologized to his family, I apologized to his brother — I'm really, really, really sorry because everyone, when they're choosing treatment for cancer, makes the best decision they can."

At the same time, Suzanne, who overcame breast cancer 10 years ago with hormone therapy and nutrition, is still a vocal advocate of alternative treatments, especially after she was misinformed and told she had relapsed last year.

"The oncologist comes in and says, 'You got cancer. It's everywhere — I've never seen so much cancer.'"

As a result of the misdiagnosis, Suzanne wrote Knockout, a compilation of interviews with doctors who prompted Somers to pen her new book, "Knockout," which compiles interviews with doctors who champion cancer prevention techniques.
