It prompted Mere to finally tell Derek that she didn’t want him to see other people, even though the thought of commitment scared her even more. Of course, it was a little too late since Derek had already shared a passionate kiss with the pretty nurse who fixed his brain scan equipment on three years of computer technology at a party school. Seriously, What man could resist that? Mere also finally put hard-ass Hahn in her place by telling her to shut up as they discussed the many ways Ray could die as they tried to save his life. That, coupled with Sloan observing out loud that Hahn was mean to everyone around her -- including herself -- forced the cold doc to finally break down some of her icy exterior and try to be friends with her fellow colleagues. Izzie tried to be more like Hahn and ignore patients on an emotional level, and it backfired in her face. That wasn’t the only bad feeling she would have that day. George rightfully told Izzie that they did not chemically work as a couple. As for her question of them being together “maybe some day?” I don’t think so. Karev got reamed for having Rebecca, a.k.a. Ava, in the observing room, then told her off as she tried to comfort him about his day. And yet, she still hooked up with him! All I can say is that she must need it bad. Lexie bravely stopped the blood gushing from Nick’s Carotid artery by calling “Code Blue” for immediate medical backup. Despite her heroic efforts, Nick still died, and Lexie realized that yes, bad things do happen even when you’re trying to save lives. Cristina shed her hard shell and invited Lexie to come over and get drunk with her and Mere. Yep, a bad day can always be assuaged with alcohol.
