It's hard to like Joe Carroll, the serial killer on The Following. After all, he's killed approxmiately a bagillion people since the show began. Now back for its second season, Joe is showing a slightly softer side due to a surprising new character. Newcomer Tiffany Boone chatted with OKMagazine.com about her new role as Mandy on The Following, giving some awesome spoilers in the process. Check it out!

OK!: Explain your character on The Following.

Tiffany Boone: Mandy Lang is a 15-year-old girl who falls into the following, whether she likes it or not. She has this really great relationship with Joe Carroll, who is the serial killer om the show. They form this father-daughter bond, and she's put into a lot of tough situations. Her loyalty to him is tested, and she grows up over the course of the season.

OK! News: Jessica Stroup talks about her new role on The Following!

OK!: She's showing a different side of him. What are we going to see from him, because of this paternal role?

TB: It is nice to see a different side of Joe. You see, I think, what he wanted to have with his son in the first season, and he wasn't able to, so he takes this opportunity to be a good father. I think you see a gentle side to him, a genuine side. Because you never really know what his intentions are, but I think his intentions with Mandy are pretty pure. He really wants to take care of her. So it further complicates what was already happening in season one, which is that so many fans love Joe Carroll and they can't figure out why. That's going to happen more this season, because you see him really try to take care of Mandy.

OK!: Is she, at this stage, a traditional follower, or is she more complex? Does she believe in his romantic visions of killing?

TB: I think it's more complicated because she doesn't necessarily believe in the following, his obsession with Poe, and all that. She cares about him. She loves him. So she'll do anything to stay with him and have his companionship. Everything else is kind of secondary to her. All she wants is his love, so she's willing to do whatever she has to do to get it.

OK!: Are there any more murders coming up, and what has that been like to partake in?

TB: Well, there's always murders! There's a dozen every week. She'll be around when some of these things happen. I think all of us on this show witness one murder a week. Yeah, I think it's going to get more and more complicated. This season is different from season one because—there's still a lot of murder, don't get me wrong, but it's not so much about being scared and being shocked. This season is more psychological, and you get into some really weird relationship things that happen. I think that's more important than who's getting murdered in each episode.

OK! News: Wendi McLendon-Covey talks about her crazy outfits on The Goldbergs.

OK!: The show is known for being crazy violent, and it's been especially gross so far this season. Are you squeamish, and has that changed since working on the show?

TB: I can't watch things like that, necessarily. I don't watch horror films. But being part of the show, it's not so hard for me, because you know all the tricks. You're seeing the fake blood and fake knives and all that. At this point, it doesn't really faze me that much. We did something a few weeks ago that really, really freaked me out. That'll be interesting for people to see. I think it's in episode ten.

OK!: Speaking of scary, I feel like Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy would both be so intimidating. Who was the scarier person to meet on set?

TB: I want to say that James was scarier, to me, than Kevin. Kevin, I was like, Oh, he's a movie star, he's going to be stand-offish. He's totally not! But I thought from watching the first season that James was going to be very intense and dark because of his character. And he's the nicest guy I've ever met. He's goofy, and he's so much fun. He's been a mentor to me throughout the process. So no one should be afraid of either one of them. They're super nice.

OK!: So how did you get your start in acting?

TB: I did my first play when I was 8. I did a lot of theater, a lot of training. I went to college, got a degree in theater. I've just been doing film and television for the last three years. Once I got out of school, I did the usual get a manager, get an agent thing, been auditioning. And luckily, the last year and a half I've been able to book some really great things, with The Following being the most amazing thing I've ever done. I've been very lucky.

OK!: What would your dream project be?

TB: I don't have a dream project. I would like to do something period, for sure. After The Following, I would love to do something a little lighter, where I'm not crying as much, where I don't have to be as scary or as scared. I'd love to do a light independent comedy or something.

OK!: What do you do when you're not working?

TB: I'm a shopper. I eat a lot. I spend a lot of money on food, going out to different restaurants in New York. I moved here for the show, so I'm able to just explore the city. See a lot of theater, which I can't do in LA because we don't have the same theater scene. So that's what I've been doing, going to the theater, going to museums, getting my culture in before I go back to LA and chill out at the beach again.

OK!: What's a movie you watch every time it's on TV?

TB: Clueless. I remember when I was younger, and the first time I watched it, I was obsessed. Literally, for five birthdays, I had "as if" or "whatever" on my birthday cake. I wanted to be Di, I wanted to be Stacey Dash. I thought they had the most amazing life, the way her closet was automated and she could put together outfits on her computer. So yes, I watch it every time it's on!
