'True Blood' Season Five Finale Airs Sunday: Why Are Sookie and Eric Covered in Blood?

Fans of True Blood have definitely noticed that season five is the most absurd and confusing season to date.

While some viewers may look back fondly at when the fictional backdrop, Bon Temps, was just a sleepy Southern town and Sookie just a mind-reading waitress with a crush on a vampire, others relish the twists, turns and mind boggling plot lines.

This Sunday marks the season finale and the vampire society is on the verge of collapse after their legal form of nourishment — Tru Blood — has been zapped dry after the five major factories were destroyed. Meanwhile, Bill, Eric and the rest of the Vampire Authority are going mad, Sookie is being hunted by an old and very powerful vampire while Sam and his shapeshifter girlfriend, Luna, are attempting to track down her kidnapped daughter.

This week we stumbled across a photo of Sookie and Eric blood spattered, leaving us to wonder which character will be murdered next. Series creator, Alan Ball, let it slip that this Sunday's finale has "a big body count," and adds, "Probably more than any episode we've ever had."
