Tom Snyder, the man who brought class and a distinct, oddball sense of humor to late-night TV, lost his battle to leukemia on Sunday, July 29 at the age of 71. Tom's pioneering chat-fest, The Tomorrow Show, was a staple on NBC's post-Tonight Show lineup from 1975 to 1982, where the jocular host interviewed everyone from politicians to movie stars to mass murderers. Snyder's work led the way for other late-night luminaries like Dave Letterman, whose Late Night replaced The Tomorrow Show in 1982. Letterman later produced Snyder's return to TV in 1995 with The Late, Late Show, which ran until 1998.Photo: Wireimage.com
