Jenny Craig spokeswoman Valerie Bertinelli is speaking out to defend Kirstie Alley, who was rumored to have gotten kicked to the curbed by the weight-loss company earlier in the year for allegedly not being able to maintain her figure.

“I don’t think that’s true," Valerie tells OK!. "I’ve seen Kirstie and I think she looks terrific."

And regarding recent less-than-flattering photographs of Kirstie, Valerie says, "I don’t know what those photographs might say. I don’t really see a lot of them; I’ve heard of them. But I disagree. When I’ve been with Kirstie, she looks terrific.”

Meanwhile, all eyes are on the former One Day at a Time star as she tries to maintain the 40 pounds she lost through Jenny Craig. Valerie, who spoke to OK! while promoting her upcoming Lifetime TV movie, True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet, said, “I think this is the best weight-management program. It’s the one that’s worked for me the longest. I’ve never kept weight off this long.

“I wasn’t satisfied a year and a half ago. I am now. I’m not a perfect size zero. I’m never going to be. I’m not a two; I’m not a four; I’m between a six and an eight. In the business I’m in, that’s heavy. But you know what? I’m comfortable at this weight. I can move about in the world at a much easier pace when I was 40 pounds heavier but I’m not going to be told what I have to weigh by society or what the glamour magazines tell you you have to weigh,” Valerie said.

While she eats the Jenny Craig food, for exercise, Valerie said, “I walk a lot. I love to go hiking and I have a walkvest, a weighted vest that I really love, by Debbie Rocker. I wear that all the time. I feel freer!”
