Shock after shock (after shock) on last night's episode of The Vampire Diaries, as Bonnie (Kat Graham) found her biological mother, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) found his coffins and Stefan (Paul Wesley) found out about Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena's (Nina Dobrev) hot kiss. Oops.

From hybrid complusions to witch problems to human healers, this week's episode proved, once again, that this show never fails to surprise us with a new twist!

OK! NEWS: VAMPIRE DIARIES RECAP: STEFAN RISKS ELENA'S LIFE IN ORDER TO GET TO KLAUS!

First, we caught up with Bonnie, who has been having terrifying nightmares about being trapped in one of Klaus' creepy coffins. In these dreams, the witch of Mystic Falls sees her mother Abby (Persia White), who abandoned her many years ago, and realizes that maybe she is the one who can help destroy Klaus. So, Bonnie and Elena — with a little help from the always smoldering Damon — find out where Abby lives and head out on a little road trip. Only, of course, Klaus sends one of his hybrid slaves to her place first, so that he can compell Abby, and her housemate Jamie (Robert Ri'chard), to get Bonnie to confess where Stefan is hiding the coffins. But let's not forget, Stefan would never let Elena or Bonnie do anything to prevent him from keeping those coffins away from Klaus, so he also finds his way to Abby without them knowing.

Let's just say when all is said and done, a compelled Jamie ties up Elena and shoots Stefan, while Abby kidnaps Bonnie. Jamie then confesses to Elena that he was told to shoot Stefan and to shoot himself if Bonnie didn't let Klaus know where the coffins were. That's when Elena realizes what's going on, undoes her binds, kicks some witchy a** and pulls the bullet out of Stefan.

After last week's incident on the bridge, we were surprised to see Stefan so in touch with his human emotions last night, especially when Elena decides to tell him about her steamy makeout session with his brother.

OK! NEWS: VAMPIRE DIARIES PREVIEW: STEFAN GETS SHOT AND CAROLINE'S DAD THREATENS TYLER!

"You're better than him Elena," Stefan tells her after he storms off, visibly upset. "You're better than both of us." But, let's be frank, he wasn't as forgiving with Damon, who he punched square in the face when he arrived home. Ouch.

Meanwhile, back in Mystic Falls, Tyler (Michael Trevino) makes a deal with Caroline's (Candice Accola) supernatural being-hater dad Bill (Jack Coleman) to force himself to turn into a werewolf, so that he can get rid of Klaus' power over him. As we watched the painful transformation unfold, we witnessed Tyler's complete love for Caroline, who he desperately wants to be with, despite being trapped under Klaus' control. Eventually, Tyler changes and almost kills Bill (no pun intended).

OK! NEWS: VAMPIRE DIARIES CAST PERSIA WHITE AND TORREY DEVITTO!

But, how does Bill survive? All thanks to the new doctor in town, Meredith Fell (Torrey DeVitto), who revealed her true colors when she knocks out Damon with verbain, drains some of his vampire blood and then injects it into her patient Bill, in order to save his life. Alaric (Matt Davis) obviously thinks this whole healer thing is hot and makes out with her after revealing his secret of being a vampire hunter. Bye bye, Jenna (Sara Canning).

But the best part of the episode comes at the end when we discover that one of our favorite characters from the past is still alive, thanks to Damon. Klaus discovers his coffins after he uses his hybrid persuasion on the witches, but the thing is, Damon already hid the only coffin that obviously means the most to Klaus — the one that is sealed shut. The older Salvatore brother also took it upon himself to pull the dagger out of Klaus' brother and his buddy Elijah (Daniel Gillies), who has ressurected from the dead! Could we be more excited? Nope, not really!
