Rod Stewart knows it can be tough in the Hollywood spotlight. The rocker decided to weigh in on Paris Hilton's most recent run-in with the law, urging the 29-year-old social light to "give up the drugs." Rod also took the time to point out that Paris was once a close friend of his daughter Kim Stewart — who also has a rep as a party girl – but that their relationship has ended.

"She is a lovely girl,"  Rod said in a recent interview with the U.K.'s Telegraph. "I've always found her tremendously polite and very respectful, but, you know, it's time to move on perhaps, give up the drugs."

Rod adds that Paris is a "beautiful girl" who needs to just move forward and leave her hard partying ways behind.

"You know move on, there's other things, you don't need em," he says. "She's a beautiful girl. We've all done it, but I've never been a druggie sort of person so I've always been against it."

The socialite's most recent run-in with the law happened last weekend in Las Vegas when Paris was out on the strip with boyfriend Cy Waits. The couple was pulled over in Paris' Escalade was pulled over and after cops detected a marijuana scent in the car they searched the SUV which led to the discovery of cocaine.

Paris maintains she was unaware of the illegal substance in her purse — first claiming the bag wasn't even hers and her second alibi was that she thought the coke was gum.

Both Paris and her boyfriend were incarcerated. She was charged with felony drug possession and Cy with a DUI. Jail time isn't off the table either.

Check out Rod's advice to Paris. Do you think he has the right to address her drug habit?
