"We really got to know each other as people, not divas," she said of their musical collaboration on 1998's The Prince of Egypt. "She was a hilarious person with a cutting sense of humor. She was real and she kept it real. That's why we got along so well and so many others feel like I do: If you really knew Whitney, you couldn't help but love her."

Meanwhile, several of today's top artists sang their favorite Whitney songs. Brandy performed "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" and "I'm Your Baby Tonight," while Chaka Khan belted out "I'm Every Woman." Monica sang "I Love The Lord," and even Whitney's brother, Gary Houston, performed in remembrance of the singer who died of heart failure on Feb. 11.

Whitney's Waiting To Exhale castmates, Angela Bassett, Lela Rochon and Loretta Devine, paid their respects, and mother Cissy Houston left the audience wide-eyed with her rendition of "Bridge Over Troubled Water."
