Naomi Watts has finally cleared up the mystery of that sparkler on her left ring finger!
She and her beau of four years, Liev Schreiber, 41, (the pair are parents to 2-month-old Samuel and Sasha, 18 months) are not married.
"He gave me a beautiful ring, although I'm not wearing it right now,"? she says in the latest issue of Parade of the bauble she debuted in March. "It's not like I've grown up having this dream of a fairy-tale wedding," she adds. "My mother married twice and had two divorces. And Liev comes from the same kind of background. Maybe one day we'll just wake up and go, 'Hey, let's do this.' And maybe not. He and I have a family. We're very much together. We just don't have that certificate, and that's okay with both of us.
Naomi's other serious relationship was with Heath Ledger, which started in 2002 on the set of Ned Kelly and ended amicably a few years later.
"There was a wonderful mixture of power and fragility at work in everything he did, which just pulls you in," Naomi says of Heath's acting. "His strength didn't scare you. It intrigued you. And his fragility touched you."
Even after the split, the two remained friends until his death in January 2008. A year later, the pain of his accidental death due to an overdose remains.
"It's still incredibly difficult," Naomi confesses.
