'1,000-Lb Sisters' Star Amy Slaton Dropping Weight Amid Second Pregnancy As Sister Tammy Slaton Loses Over 100-Lbs At Rehab
The Slaton sisters are back on track!
1000-Lb Sisters star Amy Slaton, 34, may be pregnant with baby number two, but that doesn't mean her weight loss journey is over.
In Season 1 of the hit TLC show, Amy weighed 406 pounds, but with determination, diet, exercise, and encouragement from her doctor, she was able to lose enough weight to qualify for gastric bypass surgery in 2019. Following the procedure, she dropped down to 250 pounds.
There have been a few bumps in the road to achieving her ultimate weight goal — she welcomed son Gage in November 2020 and has since struggled to get back on track with diet and exercise — but now that she is expecting again, she's using it as an opportunity to develop healthier habits.
"I feel like I'm actually losing weight with this baby because I'm eating right," Slaton mused in an interview with The Sun. "Gage's favorite foods are green beans, broccoli, brussels sprouts, and tuna fish, that boy will eat tuna salad every day if I let him."

She added, "He eats healthy so I eat healthily. But I do have sugar here just in case my sugar gets low, because with this baby my sugar drops into the 40s, with Gage it was always high."
As to whether or not it's safe for her to be dropping weight during a time when most women pack on the pounds, Amy clarified that she wasn't doing this without an enthusiastic go ahead from her doctor.
"I asked my doctor, 'Hey is it okay if I lose weight'," she told the outlet. "And my doctor said yes, as long as the baby gains it."
Amy's renewed vigor for healthy habits comes after OK! reported her sister, Tammy Slaton, checked into a rehab clinic in Ohio — and according to a recent episode, she has lost over 100 pounds in only 30 days!
"I'm glad Tammy is finally getting the help she needs," Amy told People. "I just wanted the best for all my siblings."
