Diddy Insists He Wasn't 'Trolling' Ex Jennifer Lopez When He Posted #TBT Snap: 'That's Just My Friend'

No issues here! Diddy nearly broke the internet in May when he posted a throwback photo of himself with ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez — right before she reconnected with ex-fiancé Ben Affleck.

“#Tbt,” the hip hop mogul captioned a snap of the former flames — who dated from 1999-2001 — holding hands. Many believed the “Bad Boy for Life” crooner was shooting his shot with the former Fly Girl, who at the time was newly single following her split from Alex Rodriguez.

Now, Diddy is swearing there was nothing behind the photo. "It wasn't no trolling involved, that's just my friend," the rapper said of Lopez. "And I don't have nothing to say about her relationship or her life," he added, seemingly referring to the nagging questions all of her pals have been getting about her hot-and-heavy romance with Affleck.

Although the timing of the post seemed sus, the “I’ll Be Missing You” rapper insists it was just him remembering “a great time in his life,” Vanity Fair reported. He also noted that fans shouldn’t ever expect a rekindling of their failed romance, as the two are just friends.

The Making the Band creator also detailed how his life has changed since the tragic sudden death of ex, Kim Porter, who died from lobar pneumonia at the age of 47 in 2018. Diddy noted that if he were to ever tie the knot, it would have been with Porter, who he shared Christian, 23, and 14-year-old twins Jessie James and D’Lilia Star.

Diddy referred to Porter as the love of his life, and her death made him realize that life goes fast and you have to seize every opportunity that comes your way. “I'm not saying I would do any of it differently,” he said. “God willing — I would have had more time... I look at my life as I got a second chance. I'm on my second mountain."

He is taking that second chance now, by working on new music and creating a music label that focuses on R&B. “Yeah, all R&B label, because I feel like R&B was abandoned and it’s a part of our African American culture,” he added, noting that he wants to “own” the genre.
