Earlier this year, OK! sources were dishing that Olivia Munn was desperate to dive into yet another celebrity relationship. So is anyone really that surprised she zoomed in on rumored new boyfriend John Mulaney before his divorce was even officially announced?
Mulaney, 38, who checked himself into rehab for 60 days late last year after battling alcohol and drug abuse, recently asked for a divorce from his soon-to-be ex-wife of six years, Anna Marie Tendler.
But before the announcement was even made public earlier this week on Monday, May 10, Munn was reportedly out on the West Hollywood town last Saturday night with buddies, iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove, social personality Amanda Cerny and comedian Esther Povitsky, blabbing indiscreetly that she's "very into him."
In fact, Munn, 40, has been telling anyone who will listen that she and Mulaney are a couple, according to Page Six, while Tendler deals with the devastating news of her failed marriage. The artist said through her spokesperson, "I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage." Tender said in a statement, "I wish him support as he continues his recovery."
Mulaney, who started drinking at age 13, but relapsed during the pandemic, didn't became sober until the age of 23. He recently revealed on stage during his comedy comeback at City Winery this week that friends staged an intervention before he checked into an inpatient facility in Pennsylvania.
Now it seems Munn's heartless joy over the troubled stand-up comic's broken marriage isn't being received well by mutual friends, actor Nick Kroll and his wife, model turned landscaping architect Lily Kwong, as they do not follow Munn on Instagram. Kroll, who had a Broadway hit with Mulaney, Oh, Hello, apparently has said goodbye to his friend's new gal pal.
For now it doesn't seem like the two Instagram followers will cost Munn any sleep, as she's enjoying the steamy new romance.
As OK! previously reported, Munn and Mulaney have been friends for years. When it comes to a relationship, though, sources said the two are "taking it slowly." Added the insider, "They met at church in Los Angeles." Mulaney and the actress apparently first connected several years ago and have remained friends ever since.
