Iconic golfer Tiger Woods was transferred from Harbor-UCLA Medical Center to the famous Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a renowned Sports Medicine Institute in Los Angeles, two days after he was involved in a rollover car crash.

Dr. Anish Mahajan, chief medical officer of Harbor-UCLA, confirmed on Thursday, February 26, that he was transferred "for continuing orthopedic care and recovery," after he was immediately taken into surgery on Tuesday, February 23, to be treated for serious leg injuries.

"On behalf of our staff, it was an honor to provide orthopedic trauma care to one of our generation's greatest athletes," the chief medical officer added in her statement.

On Tuesday, Mahajan said Woods sustained multiple "open fractures" on his right leg during the single-vehicle, rollover crash. The 45-year-old reportedly had a rod placed in his tibia as well as screws and pins inserted in his foot and ankle during the emergency surgery.

At the time of the accident, Woods was reportedly heading to the Country Club for a video shoot with NFL QBs Drew Brees and Justin Herbert.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said that the department is considering the crash an accident, as they did not see any signs of impairment at the site.

"He was not drunk," Villanueva said in a statement on Wednesday. "We can throw that one out."

Additionally, Sheriff’s Deputy Carlos Gonzalez, who was the first to arrive at the scene, explained: “At the scene, we’re looking for evidence of intoxication like if there’s an odor of an alcoholic beverage or there’s an open container or prescription medication," before adding, "we didn’t see any evidence of impairment and anything beyond that in terms of the medical toxicology, I wouldn’t be aware at this time."

Since learning of Woods' horrifying crash, the sports world has gathered behind the iconic athlete to send him well-wishes and hope for a speedy recovery.
