Move over Kenya Moore, because there's a new peach in town! Shamari DeVoe made her debut on The Real Housewives of Atlanta last night, joining a show that has turned many of these women into household names. Turns out that the 38-year-old was known worldwide way before RHOA even existed. Read on to learn 5 important things about the hit reality program's latest star.
Shamari became a known name nearly 20 years ago during her time with the girl group Blaque alongside Brandi Williams (pictured) and the late Natina Reed, who tragically died from a car accident in 2012. They scored major hits on the Billboard charts including "808".
Blaque was actually signed by another legendary girl group member: TLC's Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes! They also opened up for *NSYNC in mid-1999. Band member JC Chasez is featured on the remix to their song "Bring It All To Me".
All three members of Blaque scored a role in the 2000 teen comedy Bring It On alongside new mommy Gabrielle Union and Kirsten Dunst.

She's been married to R&B legend Ronnie DeVoe since 2006, but they met much earlier than that. “Me and my husband, we met during the Janet Jackson Icon Awards in 2001,” she said on RHOA. “The next day, we got together and we had sex. A lot of times people say, you know, you have sex the first night and you ain’t gonna be with the guy. And I’m still with him 17 years later. So you can’t alway believe what you hear.”
She and Ronnie are parents to twin boys named Roman and Ronald III, born July 14, 2017. They are starting their social media game pretty early in life by having their very own Instagram account!
