Alan Thicke died tragically on Dec. 13, 2016, after suffering a ruptured aorta while playing hockey with his son, Carter. At the time, Carter said his father was lighthearted, even making jokes on the way to the hospital. But the famous Growing Pains star later died that same day, which Carter described as “quite a shock” to ET. Now, a year later, the actor’s wife, son, and even his Growing Pains family are paying tribute to Alan, who they say they still can’t “believe” is gone. Click through to see their moving posts.
“It's hard to believe it's been a year. Some days it feels like it was only yesterday and other days it feels like it's been years,” Carter wrote alongside this throwback pic of him and his dad. “Nothing can really describe the loss, but I feel you here everyday in my life. I miss my best friend and partner in crime. I love you Pops.”
Alan’s wife, Tanya Callau Thicke, wrote on Twitter, “It’s been 1 year today - how I miss my best friend, husband, best companion in all things. The hole in my heart has yet to heal, but I know you are still with me.”
“I can’t wait to see the path god has planned for me. One day we will be reunited,” she added. “I love you H ~always & forever , W.”
Alan’s TV daughter, Tracey Gold, took to Twitter to pay tribute to Alan as well. She posted this pic with Alan and Growing Pains co-star Jeremy Miller. “Missing Alan...hard to believe it’s been a year. Didn’t know this would be the last time I saw him,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Alan’s most famous son, Robin, stayed quiet on social media on the anniversary of his father’s death. The “Blurred Lines” singer is currently expecting his second child with his younger girlfriend, April Love Geary.
