Amanda Bynes is trying to get back on track. According to reports, the former Nickelodeon star has been staying in a group home designated to sobriety for the time being. News of the 33-year-old's living situation comes after she graduated from Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and joined Instagram.
According to sources to The Blast, Amanda is “not doing well” and her doctors and family think the best place for her to be while she recovers is a group home focused on sober living. Amanda reportedly suffered a relapse in January and checked into a Los Angeles rehab facility. At the time, she felt that the pressure of being back in the public eye and auditioning for gigs in Hollywood was “too much, too soon” and became overwhelmed.
The Blast also reported that Amanda is due in court on September 26 to discuss the next steps in assisting the Easy A actress to a smooth recovery, along with the conservatorship she’s been under since 2013. Her conservatorship was extended until 2020 as of August 2018, but may change in light of the many recent issues.
In a bombshell interview with Paper Magazine in November 2018, Amanda admitted to trying cocaine and ecstasy recreationally, and abusing Adderall.

The She’s The Man actress has a long history of mental illness and substance abuse. She was under an involuntary hospitalization for mental evaluation in July 2013 after a very public breakdown, and was in treatment for five months until December of that year.
Amanda was also arrested for a DUI in 2014 while under the influence of Adderall. The case was ultimately dropped. However, at the time, she told a group of photographers that any concern about her mental health was unnecessary. Though she seemed to be back on track in 2015, her parents were still very concerned.
Months after she was reportedly spotted with scars on her arm, she gave her first interview in four years and elaborated on her troubled past.
Things appeared to be heading in a good direction for the Amanda Show alum. In June, she graduated from Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and was allowed to walk in the ceremony. Amanda also joined Instagram on September 10.
