Who said pregnancy didn’t have its perks? If you want to have a TLC special / an entire season focused on just you, have a Duggar baby! Anna Duggar sealed her spot on the upcoming season of Counting On -- despite having her role on the show slightly diminished last season -- after she announced that she’s expecting her fifth child with husband, Josh. While the pregnancy was received with mixed reviews (some fans were delighted, others were shocked, and some were just dismayed) “production sources have indicated that Anna will play a larger role in the next season of her in-laws’ reality show,” according to Hollywood Gossip.
As reported by the Ashley’s Reality Roundup, 2.5 million viewers tuned in to watch Jessa Seewald give birth to her first son, Spurgeon, on Counting On. The birth of Jill Dillard’s first child on 19 Kids and Counting brought in 2.9 million viewers, according to Showbuzz Daily. While the season 3 finale of Counting On had just 1.2 million viewers! See, Duggar babies equal higher ratings!
However, babies aren’t the only reason viewers tune in the boatloads to watch the Duggar family.

Love it or hate it, Anna and Josh’s relationship attracts a huge following! When Counting On premiered in 2015, Anna helped attract audiences to her in-laws’ new reality series by opening up about her husband’s sex scandal. Anna’s tell-all came on the heels of TLC’s cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting after Josh admitted to molesting five girls when he was a teen and having an extramarital affair.
Anna has already started popping up in the Duggar’s web series about Jinger Vuolo’s journey to the alter. Perhaps the Duggars are prepping fans for her big TV return?
