Ariana Grande shared a rare photo with her estranged dad Edward Butera on Christmas. The two have a strained relationship, which was detailed on Ariana’s single "Thank U, Next."
Despite Ariana and Edward’s tense relationship, she FaceTimed him on Christmas. She shared a picture of their call on her Instagram story yesterday.
In the photo, Edward had a huge smile on his face. He appeared happy to spend the holiday with his daughter even if it was over the phone.
Ariana shaded him in her song "Thank U, Next" with the lyrics, "One day I'll walk down the aisle / Holding hands with my mama / I'll be thanking my dad / 'Cause she grew from the drama."

Ariana got choked up on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November when she sang the "Thank U, Next" lyrics about her dad. Despite the family drama Ariana sung about in her hit single, she appeared to be in good spirits during their FaceTime call.
Her dad and her mom, Joan Grande, got divorced when the singer was 8 years old. In 2014, she told Seventeen that she had a falling out with her father in 2013.
