Ariana Grande is returning to Manchester. After a tragic suicide bombing left 22 people dead and dozens injured at her May 22 concert, the pop star announced she would hold a benefit concert in the city to raise money for the victims and their families. With a lineup that includes the likes of Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Justin Bieber, tickets for the One Love Manchester show were bound to be in high demand, but sales still defied expectations. When 45,000 tickets went on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. UK time, they sold out in just SIX minutes!
“UPDATE: One Love Manchester is now completely sold out- and in under 6 minutes!” the concert's Twitter page announced.
The show will be on Sunday, June 4, and its estimated $2.6 million proceeds will go towards the Red Cross’ Manchester Emergency Fund.
Ariana first announced plans for the concert on May 26 on Twitter. “I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way,” she wrote.
Within days, the singer pulled together the show, which will also feature performances by Niall Horan, Coldplay, Usher, and Pharrell. She told fans, “We won’t let hate win.”
