Ariana Grande Shares Her Brain Scan Displaying PTSD Trauma

Ariana Grande has always been candid about her mental health. On April 11, she shared a photo from her brain scan that revealed she’s been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Ariana, 25, shared a picture to her Instagram story of a brain scan that is healthy and a brain that shows signs of PTSD. She then shared a photo of her scan that similarly lit up in the same areas, which indicate trauma in the brain.

“Not a joke,” she captioned the comparison photos. Ariana also revealed the information was “hilarious and terrifying.”

The “Thank U, Next” singer previously opened about her PTSD following her May 2017 Manchester concert where 22 people were killed in a fatal bombing.

Shortly after the bombing occurred, Ariana returned to the city for a One Love Manchester benefit concert to raise money for the victims’ families. She performed alongside her then-boyfriend Mac Miller. They called it quits in May 2018 after dating for a few years.

Just months later in September 2018, Mac passed away due to a fatal overdose. On April 4, she took to Instagram and told her followers, “Healing is hard work. Accept the ups and downs. Be gentle with yourself and surround yourself with gentle energy. You’re not alone.”

Ariana has broken down on stage during her latest tour during songs like “Thank U, Next” and “Ghostin,” which have lyrics dedicated to her late ex-boyfriend.

At the Billboard Women In Music Awards in December, Ariana referred to 2018 as “one of the best years in my career and one of like the worst years in my life.”
