Like many public figures, Ashton Kutcher took it upon himself to tweet his condolences to those who passed away during the horrific mass murder at the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks,California on Wednesday night. Unlike most celebrities, the actor managed to make the horrible night about himself, rather than the 12 people who lost their lives, including Tamera Mowry-Housley's 18-year-old niece Alaina Housley. The actor, who turned 40 on February 7, shared his story with approximately 18 million followers, and made a call for gun reform.

"Only reason we are alive is the shooter chose a different night," he tweeted.

Mila Kunis, who has been married to the actor since 2015, apparently threw Ashton a birthday party 9 months before the shooting occurred and many people we're not impressed by the star's insensitive comments.

One user wrote, "Way to make yourself a part of the story. I flew on a plane in 2001. I could have been part of 9/11 too if I was flying that day. Could you be any more self-absorbed?" Another person tweeted, "Wow. Way to spin a tragedy and make it about yourself."

One person tweeted that Mila was happy to be protected by someone carrying a gun and added that non-famous people should have the right to protect themselves with weapons too.

"My good friend carried a gun to protect your wife. He was her body guard. Why should you have guns for protection but not us common folk?" someone else wrote to the actor. "Do your lives mean more than ours? We need more good guys with guns, not less. Criminals do not follow the law!!!!"

The Ranch star has been no stranger to firearms either. He hunted throughout his childhood, worked at a gun club, and even shared that his friend gave him a gun as a birthday gift for his 40th birthday.
