‘The Bachelor’: Contestants Revolt After Peter Weber Asks Once Eliminated Alayah Benavidez To Return To The House

The contestants on The Bachelor were not happy with Peter Weber. During the Monday, January 20 episode of the show, viewers watched as Peter, 28, sent controversial contestant Alayah Benavidez home after many of the other women had been calling her “fake.” However, a week later, the ladies were hit with a plot twist that no one saw coming.

The drama unfolded when the ladies headed to Cleveland, Ohio for the week.  During the group date for The Bachelor Bowl, the women were split into two teams to compete for more one on one time with Peter. Contestant Hannah Ann Sluss took several hits during the game, but the teams ultimately tied.

Shortly after, the ladies headed to a rose ceremony but during the cocktail party, the ladies got more than just champagne. In a surprising twist, Alayah showed up.

As viewers of the show know, Peter sent Alayah home after he felt like she wasn’t being honest about knowing Victoria Paul before coming on the show. However, when she returned, Alayah informed Peter that she and Victoria had been on vacation together and frequently texted.

The situation went from bad to worse when Peter gave Alayah the group-date rose leaving the women who competed in the Bachelor Bowl very upset.  “A girl that got the rose wasn’t even on the date,” Hannah Ann said. Contestant Mykenna Dorn was also furious. “He’s made this mess and he has to be able to own up to it,” she said.

Later in the show, Peter was noticeably upset that all the women were mad at him about bringing back Alayah. “They’re upset at me and they’re pissed,” Peter told the camera. “I just feel like I’m doing this all wrong.” During Alayah's initial elimination, Peter admitted that he  wasn’t sure if sending her home was the right decision.

During the rose ceremony, however, Peter tried to put an end to the drama, but before he could say anything, contestant Deandra Kanu told him that it felt like a slap in the face for him to bring Alayah back. Fellow contestant Natasha Parker chimed in agreeing.

Peter apologized saying, “Yes, I gave Alayah the rose … I was angry at myself because I felt like I was influenced.”
