No bad blood here! The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) and Bella Hadid may be over but they will “remain friends.”
The 25-year-old singer and 20-year-old model called it quits after a year and a half together.
“Their schedules have been too hard to coordinate and he is focusing on finishing and promoting his album,” a source told People. “They still have a great deal of love for one another and will remain friends.”
The former couple first met when Weeknd asked Bella to be in the artwork for his album, Beauty Behind The Madness, in 2015. Bella then went on to star in her future beau’s “In The Night” music video.
The two later confirmed their relationship at the 2016 Grammys when they made their red carpet debut.
“It was a big night for Abel,” Bella told Glamour. “He has worked so hard, and he did so well that night. As a girlfriend I wanted to be there to support him. Seeing him so happy when he won a Grammy made me so happy.”
Before pumping the breaks on their nearly two-year relationship Bella and The Weeknd were spotted vacationing in Tokyo last month.
