'Below Deck Mediterranean' Star Captain Sandy Reveals She's Dating Gospel Singer Leah Shafer

“She sent me a nice message that said, ‘I came across your show, congratulations, many blessings,'” Sandy recalled. She also explained that she found Leah’s “many blessings” wish especially touching.

After a few months of chatting online, the two met each other face to face in November 2018 and the attraction became even stronger. “It was definitely unexpected," Leah, 45, said. “It just happened, when you meet another soul that you connect with at such a deep level, it is unexplainable and so beautiful.”

“It was like a spiritual connection in the beginning,” she continued. “Sandy has a passion for inspiring through music and the youth. And broken people and so do I coming from the gospel industry. That’s what brought us together.”

Leah admitted that her relationship with Sandy is unlike anything she’s experienced. “The attraction and falling in love with a beautiful soul and knowing you want to be with someone forever. I’ve never felt that way before,” she explained.

Things between the couple are going so well that Sandy has even moved from Los Angeles to Denver to be with her new love.

“Living in Denver and so happy, having a blast with @leahraeofficial!” Sandy captioned a photo of a sweet photo earlier this month.
