Bachelor nation fell head over heels for Ben Higgins when he began his journey to find a wife on The Bachelor. But although Ben comes off sweet and genuine, his ex-girlfriend revealed that the ABC star has a different side to him that fans haven’t seen on the small screen!
“I’d be shocked if he ends up engaged,” Shaelin Adams told Life & Style. “He may still be testing the waters. He has so many years to be able to put himself out there.”
The 26-year-old’s ex-girlfriend believes Ben won’t pop the question because a cheating scandal left him insecure. “His girlfriend in high school cheated on him,” she said. “So when we first started dating, he was always so worried about me cheating on him. He was insecure.”

But Ben wasn’t so innocent himself. “So many girls in college liked him, so there was always somebody to be wary about,” said Shaelin, who began dating Ben in 2012 while studying at Indiana University. “I would always give him s—t about all these girls he was friends with.”

Ben even admitted he hasn’t been a good boyfriend in the past, as he told Us Weekly, “I mess up a lot – I’m not perfect – but I try hard.”
But infidelity didn’t end their relationship, as they called it quits because she moved to Texas in the summer of 2013. If Ben doesn’t find a wife at the end of the season, his ex wouldn’t be opposed to getting back together. “It would depend on the circumstances,” she said. “I still care for him so much.”
