Blake Lively is back to work! On Monday, January 28, the 32-year-old actress made her first postpartum red carpet appearance for the premiere for her new film, The Rhythm Section, in New York City. Blake and husband Ryan Reynolds welcomed their third child in the summer of 2019.
Blake wore a luxe black velvet gown to the premiere. The dress was off-the-shoulder and she accessorized with a jeweled statement necklace and long leather gloves. To round out her look, she added a pair of knee-high Louboutin boots.
In addition to making a red carpet transition, the A Simple Favor star opened up about the transformation she underwent for her role in The Rhythm Section. “I was in a ton of makeup in order to have these eye bags and look as rough as she looks in the beginning and then I was also in a ton of makeup for when she looked nice and fresh,” she explained about her character’s features in the film to ET. “The real me is somewhere in the middle.”
“Some people see it like, ‘This is what she looks like without makeup,’ and it's the horrible one and then sometimes it’s like, ‘This is what she looks like without makeup,’ and it's the fresh-faced one — that also took an hour," Blake continued. “So, it's funny to see different people's perspectives of how good or how awful I look without makeup.”
Though the Gossip Girl alum is finding her balance between her personal and professional life, she revealed that she and the 43-year-old Deadpool star are still adjusting to life as parents of three. "It's like going from 2 to 3,000," she confessed during an appearance on Good Morning America. "I mean, we have so many children. It's pretty crazy."
"It's a lot," she confessed. "People say that going from two to three, it's the same. You know, it's kind of easy. Those people do not have three kids. It is crazy."
In addition to their newborn, Ryan and Blake are also parents to James, 5, and Inez, 3.
