Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are trying to make the world a better place, two million dollars at a time! On Wednesday, September 4, it was announced that the pair donated one million dollars each to two human rights organizations in an effort to help protect the rights of migrant children at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Blake, 32, and Ryan, 42, pledged their generous donations to both the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and to the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights.
According to an announcement from the Young Center, the money will be used to create the Waymaker Fund for Immigrant Children. The fund aims to protect and increase protection for the rights of immigrant children, who have been separated from their families at the border.
Their gifts to the NAACP Legal Defense law firm will reportedly help efforts to "promote racial and social justice and equality across the country through challenging unconstitutional legislation and advocacy litigation."
“We’re blown away by the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and the Young Center’s commitment to not only justice and democracy, but humanity,” the couple said of their donation.

“Over the last few years, our perspective has grown and we’ve realized we have to do everything possible to foster more compassion and empathy in this world," they added. "History’s being written right now. We’re grateful to give back to organizations who give voice to so many.”
Ahead of their generous donation, Blake and Ryan announced that they are expecting their third child at the premiere of Pikachu in New York City on May 2.
The pair also has two daughters, James, 4, and Inez, 2.
