Bode Miller's Wife Morgan Miller Reflects On The Tragic Drowning Death Of Their Daughter Emmy One Year Later

It's almost been a year since Bode and Morgan Miller's daughter Emmy died tragically in a drowning accident, and the volleyball player took to Instagram on Thursday, May 23, to reflect on the tragedy and raise awareness for water safety education. Scroll through for more details.

Emmy, 19 months, was found floating face down in a neighbor’s pool in Coto de Caza, California, on June 10, 2018. Morgan performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but it was too late and the toddler passed away the following day.

Morgan and her friend Nicole Hughes, who lost her son Levi to drowning on the same day as Emmy, filmed a video to stress the importance of water safety and to announce their partnership with HealthyChildren.org.

"Time is not on our side when it comes to water, and even though my daughter was resuscitated, there was too much damage to her brain for her to survive. It takes seconds," Morgan said tearfully in the clip.

Morgan wrote in the caption, "In an effort to protect parents' hearts and families' futures from enduring one of life's unthinkable events, we continue to spread awareness. Did you know that drowning is the NUMBER ONE cause of death for children under 5? Did you know that most drownings happen during non-swim times when you think your baby is playing on the family room floor?"

The Olympic skier recently revealed on CBS This Morning that he and his wife are expecting again. They are also parents to son Nash Skan, 4.
