Bruce Jenner’s high school girlfriend Michelle Rosenthal is speaking out about her surprise over her ex-boyfriend’s transition to a woman.
Ahead of Jenner’s tell-all interview with Diane Sawyer on April 24, Rosenthal opened up to Inside Edition about her relationship with Jenner and her thoughts on his transition.
"We danced close. We did kiss. He seemed to enjoy it,” she said of their prom night date.
But she added that she never expected her high school sweetheart to be transitioning into a woman. "I would have never thought that in a million years from knowing him from high school. When it came out in the papers that he was thinking of this, I think everyone was really shocked,” she said.
Jenner grabbed headlines again this week after photos of him walking around his home in a dress were published, confirming reports that the reality TV star and Olympian underwent breast implant surgery in mid-March.Those images were then followed up by Australia’s Who magazine running a cover on Thursday that included photos of Jenner walking around his home in a bra.

According to RadarOnline.com, Jenner called police on Tuesday, likely in regards to images of him wearing a dress that were released. Jenner also summoned police to his Malibu, California, home weeks before after he noticed photographers with high-powered cameras attempting to take photos of him.
Buzz over Jenner’s ABC interview -- which airs April 24 at 9 p.m. EST on 20/20 -- continues to grow as people attempt to learn more details about what will be revealed during the chat. But his ex Rosenthal says she only wants Jenner to what makes him happy. "I hope he figures out what it is that he would like for his life.
