BTS Involved In Terrifying Tour Bus Accident In Taiwan

BTS ended their last Taiwan show, quite literally, with a bang. The Korean music group and their team were involved in multi-vehicle this past  weekend.

On Dec. 9, following their sold out concert at the Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium, group members RMJinSugaJ-HopeJiminV, and Jungkook all boarded their tour buses and made their way back to their hotel.

According to Taiwan News, shortly after getting on the expressway, the buses had in a “minor collision” that involved at least seven vehicles. Reportedly, the chain reaction-style accident happened when a vehicle up ahead stopped short.

Shortly after the incident, the group’s agency, Big Hit Entertainment, released a statement in order to reassure worried fans. "After BTS finished their concert in Taiwan and were on their way to their lodgings, the artist car had a minor collision,” Big Hit told Soompi. “None of the members have any injuries and they got back to their lodgings safely, so there are no issues with their schedule."

The harrowing accident comes just days after the group, made history by receiving their very first GRAMMY nomination. Love Yourself: Tear and the album’s art director, HuskyFox, are nominated in the best recording package category. It is the first K-pop album to ever receive this distinction.

BTS’ back to back Taiwan tour dates were the last stadium concerts before they take a short hiatus. The group will resume their successful Love Yourself tour early next year. They will finish out 2018 with an appearance and a performance at both the MAMAs Fans’ Choice on Dec. 12 in Japan and the 2018 MAMAs in Hong Kong on Dec. 14.
