Back in June 2016, Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift broke up after 15 months of dating. Taylor soon moved on with Tom Hiddleston, but things still seemed amicable between the broken-up musicians. But then Taylor’s rep told People magazine that the singer had written Calvin’s summer hit, “This Is What You Came For,” under a pseudonym, and the DJ had kept the collaboration quiet. Calvin lashed out at Taylor in a series of tweets, slamming her for trying to “make ME look bad” and tearing “your ex bf down for something to do.” In an interview with British GQ, Calvin is finally addressing his Twitter tirade. "It was completely the wrong instinct," Calvin told British GQ of his tweets. "I was protecting what I see as my one talent in the world being belittled. It felt like things were piling on top of me and that was when I snapped."
"It's very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly,” the DJ continued. “The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicized than the relationship itself.”
“When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. She respected my feelings in that sense,” Calvin explained. “But when it ended, all hell broke loose.”

“Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure,” he admitted. “It took me a minute to realize that none of that matters. I'm a positive guy."
Added Calvin, "For both of us it was the wrong situation. It clearly wasn't right, so it ended.”
