Cardi B’s case is headed to trial. On Friday, April 19, the rapper rejected a plea deal in the assault case stemming from an incident at a New York strip club last year.
Had she accepted the deal, Cardi, 26, would have pled guilty to assault in the third degree.
She would have avoided jail time and, if she adhered to pre-agreed conditions, had her case thrown out.
The “Please Me” rapper is set to return to court next month. She is facing charges of assault and reckless endangerment.
In August 2018, two strippers Jade and Baddie Gi accused Cardi of ordering her entourage to attack them.
The women claimed the alleged assault happened because the Bronx native thought one of them slept with her husband, rapper Offset.
Cardi’s latest court date comes after a judge threatened her with jail time in December 2018 after she was a no-show at a pre-scheduled hearing.
