Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra made the brave decision to place their newborn daughter up for adoption in 2009 when they were teenagers and starring on the MTV reality television show that made them famous, 16 & Pregnant. In a Teen Mom Q & A, the married couple revealed if they would ever take their first daughter back.

A fan asked, “If you had the ability to take Carly back now that you are in a better place, would you?”

“We would never want to take Carly away from Brandon and Teresa,” Catelynn said of her daughter’s adoptive parents.

She continued, “First of all, I feel like, just because we are in a better place I wouldn’t go ripping her away from her parents and everything she’s known her whole life.”

She added that it wouldn’t be “healthy” for her or her adoptive parents. Catelynn also explained that adoption is a “legal” thing.

Tyler and Catelynn are now married and have another little girl named Novalee! Throughout the years, Catelynn and Tyler have kept a relationship with Carly and see her in person once a year.
