Chris Soules Gets Major Court Victory After Fatal Hit & Run Crash

Chris Soules is finally free of his ankle monitor. According to , an Iowa judge granted Chris‘ request for the removal of his location-monitoring device that he’s been wearing at his home in Arlington, Iowa, since he was arrested for allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal car accident back in April.

In court docs obtained by Radar, the former Bachelor star’s Defense attorney Robert Montgomery argued the removal of the “GPS tracker which monitors his every movement” based on Chris’ compliance with the terms of his Pretrial Release, including maintaining “regular contact with a supervising probation officer.”

The reality star’s lawyers also appeared in court on Monday to ask the judge to dismiss the charges against him. Chris’ attorney argued that the charge of “failing to remain at the scene of a fatal collision” should be dismissed because he Chris complied with Iowa law.

He claimed the Iowa native called 911 to report the crash and even provided CPR to the 66-year-old victim, Kenneth Mosher, and waited until emergency responders arrived. However, prosecutors argued the law is that drivers responsible for fatal crashes must remain until an officer can speak with them.

Judge Andrea Dryer said in court on Monday that she’ll rule later on Chris’ motion to dismiss.

As OK! readers' know, Chris rear-ended Kenneth’s tractor on April 24th, causing it to go into a ditch. Chris then left the scene 14 minutes after the accident, and a short time later Kenneth was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Chris entered a plea of not guilty on May 16. His trial is scheduled to begin on January 18, 2018.
