In Taylor Swift's star studded music video for "You Need To Calm Down," Ciara made an appearance and is seen officiating a gay wedding. Shortly after the video was dropped on Monday, June 17, the "1, 2 Step" singer took to Instagram to clap back against a hater who said that she "shouldn't be" marrying two gay men because of her religion.
In honor of Pride month, Taylor's new video for "You Need To Calm Down," revolves around equality and love in the LGBTQ community.
As fans know, Ciara has been vocal about her Christianity — which is why her involvement in Taylor's video had a lot of people up in arms.
Ciara, 33, who is among the many celebrities to make an appearance, officiates a gay wedding in the video.
"Ciara. You shouldn't be doing this. We respect you too much, Being at a gay wedding is one thing but joining them together is even more a greater sin," said a troll on Instagram. "We love you but this is wrong."
The Shade Room caught Ciara's reply. "Firstly, Christians don't judge. Secondly, #YouNeedToCalmDown," she wrote.
Ellen DeGeneres, Adam Lambert and RuPaul are all openly queer and also made a cameo in the video.
Katy Perry, who is a huge supporter of the LGBTQ community, also made a surprising appearance! As fans know, Katy, 34 and Taylor feuded for years until they both recently decided to call a truce.
