John-David and Abbie released their message to fans via the TLCme blog.
In the video, the couple is bundled up in a town square.
They reveal they’re on their second honeymoon — in Finland!
“Well on our first little getaway right after our wedding, we went somewhere really hot and beachy. So we decided for the second, to go drastically opposite because I love winter wonderland and cold, so that’s why we chose Finland,” Abbie explains.
Abbie and John-David most likely enjoyed a private mini-moon away from the cameras first, and their Finland trip is for the family’s show Counting On. John-David's brother Josiah's honeymoon to Austria with wife Lauren was featured on this season's second episode.
While John-David says he hopes he gets to see the Northern Lights on their trip, he said the most unforgettable part will be “how much Abbie loves me.”
Of married life, John-David and Abbie told TLC it’s “fantastic!”
