PHOTOSAxed ‘DWTS’ Alum Sharna Burgess & Artem Chigvintsev Score Gig With ‘SYTYCD’

The door closed for both Sharna Burgess and Artem Chigvintsev when it came to Dancing With The Stars, but they both have a new choreographer opportunity with So You Think You Can Dance! Sharna announced their new gig via her Instagram Story on September 4.
“I’m about to head to my second rehearsal for So You Think You Can Dance because yes, I’m choreographing this week,” Sharna, 34, revealed.
“But guess what, it’s not just me,” she continued. “I am choreographing with Artem. We have teamed up and we are doing a routine for So You Think.”
Both Sharna and Artem, 37, have worked as guest choreographers for SYTYCD when they were initially booked by DWTS as troupe dancers rather than full-time professional dancers.
“I can’t tell you what it is. I can’t tell you who it’s with, but I can tell you it’s a lot of fun and that you definitely shouldn’t miss out on it,” Sharna told fans.
Sharna won DWTS last season and posted an emotional message to Instagram on August 21 after she had learned that she was fired after nearly 9 years on the show. “Though nothing could ever replace my love for the show, there are things coming into my world that I’m excited to dive into now that I have time,” she wrote. “Everything happens for a reason ♥️ you know me… I’ll share when I can.”
Artem released a statement about the matter on the same day. However, he opened up more on The Bellas podcast, which is cohosted by his girlfriend Nikki Bella. “It’s not even a job, it’s a lifestyle if you’ve been doing it for a very, very long time,” Artem said. “There was never really a thought in my mind that I wasn’t going to be doing DWTS. But getting this call and hearing, ‘There’s going to be no involvement in the show from now on’ — it's like going through a breakup after 10 years.”
SYTYCD is already in its final weeks of season 16. The show ends on September 16.
