Duggars SLAMMED By Fans For Putting Toddlers On Cleaning Duty

The Duggars are under fire once again for their parenting tactics. After sharing a picture of Jessa’s one-year-old son, Spurgeon, and Josh’s one-year-old daughter, Meredith, holding mops in their hands, presumably helping to clean Jim Bob and Michelle’s home, the reality TV family received tons backlash for not only having their grandchildren assist with chores but also for calling it training.

The ever-growing bunch shared this pic of the cousins attempting to clean up the Duggar compound, with the caption, “Train them young! These little ones love to ‘help’.” However, many of the Duggar’s followers weren’t too keen on their choice of words to describe the toddler’s assistance.

“You train a dog, not a child,” one fan commented. “Does Michelle do anything in that house? The girls (never the boys) do the cleaning, laundry, shopping, etc. and Jana raises the children. Very sad.”

“Teaching them to be their parent's little slave,” said another fan. “Just wait until they are doing all of the chores!! They wont sic want to help like my child does because they will be required to do this!!”

However, not all of the Duggar’s followers were concerned about the family’s word choice as a few even explained where the term 'train' came from, in regards to raising children.

“The word ‘train’ isn't referencing them like dogs,” explained a fan. “It's a proverb. Train your child the way they should go, and in old age, they shouldn't depart from it.”

Another wrote, “People need to lighten up!! This is two little ones playing with mops. Didn't anyone ever do that when they were children?”
