Blake Shelton received a unique pre-engagement gift from Ellen DeGeneres while visiting her talk show, in hopes of the getting the star to propose to his longtime girlfriend, Gwen Stefani. Scroll through for all the details!
As OK! readers know, Blake, 42, and Gwen, 49, have been dating since November 2015 and met when they both started judging on NBC's The Voice.
Although a source recently revealed to OK! Magazine that the "God's Country" singer has already reached out to Gwen's parents and asked for permission to wed, it seems like Ellen, 61, wants to get the ball rolling!
"So, Mother's Day is coming up and I have something for you to give to her," the host said to Blake on the Wednesday, May 1 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Ellen gave him a large wall clock that had a photo of him and the "Hollaback Girl" singer kissing on it.
"So you're saying ...there's a chance she's going to ask me to marry her? You're saying with this clock," Black asked. "You see how I flipped it around and put it on her?" Ellen said with a smirk. "Now that she knows that you're waiting for her to ask, now that she's sees this, she'll ask you. I'll call her tonight," she joked.
The comedian then explained that the same tactic worked for Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriquez. Ellen had given JLo, 49, a clock to give the former MLB player and remind him that the "clock is ticking." Not long after the appearance, Alex, 43 proposed!
