Josie Duggar is embarking on a budding singing career, but fans think it’s too much too soon for the eight-year-old! When the Duggars announced their youngest would be singing the National Anthem at an event in Branson, MO, next month, fans accused Michelle and Jim Bob of forcing their daughter into show business.

The Duggars recently shared a poster on Facebook advertising Josie’s upcoming debut at the “Freedom Journey” show, taking place in Branson over Veteran’s Day weekend.

Josie is featured on the poster, which lists her as singing the National Anthem. The Duggar fan site DuggarFamilyBlog.com reposted the poster, and fans had strong reactions.

“Josie is a very sweet little girl with a lovely voice but she is not a 'singer.' This is definitely down to her name and connections. I hope the Duggars aren't trying to force her in a direction to which she isn't suited,” one follower remarked.

“Jim Bob and Michelle should help their children find meaningful productive activities while helping them to stay OUT of the limelight, not encouraging them to stay in it,” said another.

“I know Josie likes to sing but I think she's way too young to be put in this situation,” added one fan, while another slammed, “The Duggars are actively trying to turn their children into celebrities.”

This will be Josie’s first live performance. She and her sisters, as well as her cousin Mackynzie, previously recorded the album Happy Heart, which was released in August. Some fans wondered why Josie was getting singled out to sing the National Anthem but not her siblings and cousin. “Let's hope that Johannah, Jennifer, Mackynzie and Jordyn are also given these opportunities. I’m sure their little girl voices are just as good,” said a fan.
