John-David Duggar and Abbie Burnett got married on Saturday, but long before their Nov. 3 nuptials, the Counting On couple got caught breaking multiple courtship rules, like no front hugs or unchaperoned dates. And now, fans suspect they may have broken the biggest Duggar courtship rule of all: no kissing before marriage!
For all the details on John-David and Abbie's wedding, check out the Dishin' on the Duggars podcast above!
In a video shared with TLC after the couple’s wedding, Abbie shared her favorite moment from the wedding. Besides the hymn she walked down the aisle to, Abbie said her favorite moment was John-David’s “tender kiss.”
Some fans felt strongly that Abbie’s word choice was intentional. Instead of saying “first kiss,” she said “tender kiss.”

“I noticed they did not make the usual cringe worthy remarks about ‘our first kiss’ blah blah. She said she enjoyed ‘john’s tender kiss,’” one fan observed on the Duggar Facebook page Duggar Family News. The fan added, “Not their first, IMO.”
It wouldn’t be the first Duggar courtship rule John-David and Abbie broke if they did indeed kiss before their marriage. In October, the couple posted a photo of themselves hugging — and it wasn’t on the side! John had his arms wrapped around Abbie’s waist while she placed a hand on his chest.
And in August, an eyewitness claimed to Duggar Family News that John-David and Abbie went on an unchaperoned date at the Tontitown Grape Festival. Abbie was even spotted wearing shorts!
